Assistant Governor Fraziali Ismail, Central Bank of Malaysia

Mr. Fraziali Ismail was appointed as an Assistant Governor of the Central Bank of Malaysia, overseeing areas of financial surveillance, prudential regulations, consumer and market conduct, money services business regulations as well as strategic communications. He also assumes responsibility for EMEAP Working Group on Banking Supervision (WGBS) matters at the Central Bank of Malaysia. A career central banker, Mr. Fraziali joined the Central Bank of Malaysia in 1994 and has served as the Director of the Economics and Monetary Policy departments. He has sat in several Government policy and development committees, where he played a key role in advising the Malaysian Government on the design and formulation of high impact public policies. Mr. Fraziali has also written extensively for the Central Bank of Malaysia and oversaw the publication of working and research papers on areas of monetary policy and the Malaysian economy. Mr. Fraziali holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of Bristol, United Kingdom.
